catching up...

life has been full. busy. a bit chaotic. overflowing with stories.

my family went to new york city. my aunt got married on a yacht that cruised the harbor between nyc & new jersey. i got to take pictures at the wedding. i got to hold my little cousin, and she knew my name.

i got to see the empire state building. look at the city from the observation deck at night. it was beautiful. me with my camera... shooting everything i saw. i had to tell myself to slow down. to stop & just enjoy it. take it all in without looking through the lens.

we got home, and mom had surgery. to see such a strong woman lying in a hospital bed was one of the hardest things. to see her in such pain. in such discomfort. the tears came. and now they come again, seeing her getting better. getting her strength back. getting back to everyday life.

i think we all spend a lot of time getting back to everyday life. we go day by day through the same motions... so often longing for the chance to "get away from it all". and after getting away, we have to re-adjust to the everyday. just in time to want to get away from it all again.

life has been good. i hope the same is true for you.
