halloween sunday
so while sunday was actually the halloween holiday itself - it was also the one day of the weekend that didn't find me donning my pirate costume. instead, it found me turning 4 batches of chocolate cookie dough into cookies the size of your head. :) that takes awhile. longer than i was expecting, really. but rumor has it they were good enough to make it worthwhile.
so why was i making so many head-sized cookies? the youth group had a bonfire on sunday night. and, as only mark can manage, it was a fire beyond most folks' imagination. i've seen a lot of fires before. i've even seen a lot of mark's fires before. but i think sunday night was the first bonfire i've actually seen explode. yes, i said explode. and unless there's a better word to describe a large boom followed by the fire pile dispersing itself about 25 feet in every direction, i'm pretty sure "explode" is accurate.
it was cool.
no, no one was hurt. had someone gotten hurt, it would not have been cool.
and it was cool.
and yes, mark, i think jonathan would have been proud.
